Another trailer for Kick-Ass has surfaced, this one also a red band trailer. It doesn't offer to much that the other trailers haven't already shown us, but it hasn't detered me from wanting to see it any less.

Movie Trailer: Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps trailer 2.
A new trailer for Oliver Stone's sequel played before Shutter Island. I love how "Sympathy for the Devil" is playing during the trailer. I may be the only interested in the film, but who cares, I think this looks intriguing.

Movie Trailer: The Defendor
This looks basically like the same thing as Kick-Ass, however Woody Harrelson has been on a role lately. Currently nominated for Best Supporting Actor this year, Zombieland, plus he was the best part of 2012. This looks funny, and I can't wait to see more.

Movie Review: Crazy Heart
Crazy Heart, based on the novel by Thomas Cobb, is a story about a washed up country singer named Bad Blake, played by Jeff Bridges. Bad seems at one time to have been as successful as Johnny Cash, but when we meet him his is drunk, overweight, and broke. Bad travels across the country, in his own beat up truck, to play in bars and bowling alleys. Along the way Bad meets single mother Jean Craddock, played by Maggie Gyllenhaal, a reporter for the local paper who falls in love with Bad after interviewing the 57 year old washed up singer. She sees something in him that the audience would like to see, but what the booze and cigarettes are not hiding from us. Bad is an alcoholic, and being so has completely destroyed his career and soon conflicts with his new love interest.Jeff Bridges is absolutely perfect for this role. He wears Bad like a tailored suit, and the director doesn’t hesitate to give us every imperfection on Bridges’s body, such as his overweight stomach or his sweaty arm pits. An actor like Sam Elliott is too suave for a part like this. But for Bridges, it is right up his alley and he plays it well. It can be complicated to get an audience to follow a character that they can both love and by disgusted by at the same time.
Maggie Gyllenhaal, also does a great job. What I like about her, and this even applies to big blockbuster films like The Dark Knight, is that she isn’t the typical bombshell beauty that might we usually see, e.g. Denise Richards playing a nuclear scientist in The World Is Not Enough. With Gyllenhaal there is still a pretty face, but she embodies her characters well enough that they seem believable and interesting.
The pacing of the film is a little slow, but the acting is incredible and the songs from the film are a good listen as well. The film has been nominated for several Academy Awards. It wouldn’t surprise me if it wins Best Song. For Bridges, he could very well win and it would be well deserved. Gyllenhaal’s performance is great and worthy of a nomination, but would be surprising if she wins.
Grade: B+
Movie Trailer: Repo Men
I think this film looks awesome, but of course I'm always a sucker for that near future sci-fi. I love how this film seems relevant to our current economic status, where banks are foreclosing on people's homes and kicking family out on the street. Good sci-fi always takes relevant cultural things and exploits them with futuristic fantasy.
Also Jude Law, Forrest Whitaker, and Liev Schreiber how could this film go wrong. I hope that it is as good as it seems.

Movie Trailer: Clash of the Titans
Last month, Devon posted the first Clash of the Titans trailer as one of his most anticipated films to come out in 2010. At the time I wasn't interested at all in a Clash of the Titans remake, especially directed by Louis Leterrier whose previous film The Incredible Hulk was something I yawned through for the enter movie.
However, looking again at this new trailer, I have to say it is looking pretty tasty. The production value seems high and the special effects actually look pretty good. Plus, with Hollywood constant remake frenzy that happens year after year, Clash of the Titans seems like a film worth remaking. The original is decent, but the effects are extremely dated at this point. And so a remake seems valuable because with today's technology there is something to actually update to the original film.
Any thoughts on this one readers?

Movie Trailer: Wall Street 2: Money Never Sleeps
Oliver Stone is one of my favorite directors, and though a sequel to Wallstreet sounds about as amazingly dull as the Basic Instinct sequel, after watching the trailer I am actually pretty interested.
Michael Douglas reprises his Oscar winning role, in place of Charlie Sheen is now Shia LaBeouf, and Josh Brolin from W is now on his second film with Stone.
Stone is at his best when his film are contriversial and explotive. My favorite of his are JFK, Any Given Sunday, Natural Born Killers, and Platoon. What I hope to see is a film that is relevant to our current economic statis, where the American banks needed bail out money from the goverment and everthing surround that. In the trailer Douglas's character says, "Someone once reminded me that I once said greed was good. But now it seems that greed it's legal."
